Episode 18: Motherline Repair - Healing What Your Mother Couldn't Give You
Before we begin, think about your mother. Not the idea of her. Not the story. The actual woman. What did she carry that she never put down.
Episode 18 of The Unfuckwithable Woman goes into the Motherline, the living thread of transmission running through your female ancestry, and into what I call the mother rupture, our severing from our mothers, from life, and from belonging. I talk about what gets inherited in the nervous system long before it ever becomes a story, why talk therapy alone often can't shift it, and what motherline repair actually requires in the body. I close with a short somatic grief practice you can do right now.
I'm Briony Montgomery, somatic psychotherapist, counsellor, educator, activist and leader, and founder of The SomaTherapy Collective on Bundjalung Country in the Northern Rivers of New South Wales, Australia.

Episode 17: Capacity and Repair. What Your Nervous System Actually Needs to Build Real Resilience
Resilience is not the ability to never break. It is not staying calm at all times, suppressing what you feel, or being the strong one who absorbs everything without reacting. Resilience is the ability to return. Return to yourself, return to connection, return after rupture.
In this episode of The Unfuckwithable Woman, I unpack nervous system capacity, the width of your window of tolerance, and why so many women were taught to endure instead of taught to return. We look at how capacity narrows in childhood environments where repair was rare, where needs were burdensome, where hypervigilance became the norm. And we look at why the problem was never the rupture itself. The problem is the absence of repair.
I share my own eighteen year practice of rupture and repair through motherhood, what it feels like in the body when capacity narrows, and how titration, small doses of activation followed by settling, is how we actually widen the nervous system's capacity over time. This is not suppression. It is not perfection. It is a return, again and again, to repair.
If this episode lands somewhere in you, I would love to hear from you. And if you are ready to feel this in your own body, not just understand it, a free twenty minute Clarity Session is a good place to start.

Episode 16: Why Your Nervous System Is Not Broken · It's Brilliant
Why Your Nervous System Is Not Broken. It's Brilliant
Your nervous system is not misfiring. It is doing exactly what it was built to do.
In Episode 16 of The Unfuckwithable Woman, somatic psychotherapist, counsellor, educator, activist and leader Briony Montgomery offers a complete reframe of the nervous system regulation conversation and names exactly why most of what you are seeing in the neurowellness space right now is missing the point.
Because dysregulation is not a character flaw. It is a survival solution. And the shame you carry about your own biology is the wound beneath the wound.
Episode 15: You Don't Need Her Apology to Heal. The Truth About the Mother Wound.
Do you have to confront your mother to heal the mother wound? Somatic therapist Briony Montgomery says no, and actively advises against it.
Listen to Episode 15 of The Unfuckwithable Woman and discover how healing the mother wound actually happens, in your body, your lineage, and yourself.
