Briony Montgomery | The Somatherapy Collective

Somatic psychotherapist, speaker, and founder of The Somatherapy Collective and The Reclaim Me Project, Briony Montgomery offers a grounded, body-based approach to trauma healing, nervous system support, and matrilineal repair.

Her work supports people in moving beyond talk-based approaches into somatic therapy, attachment healing, parts work, and rage work, helping them reconnect with their bodies, restore emotional capacity, and return to flow, power, purpose, and pleasure.

About Briony

Briony Montgomery is a somatic therapist and psychotherapist. She is the founder of The Somatherapy Collective, a trauma-informed healing space dedicated to supporting individuals in reconnecting with their bodies and healing deeply held emotional and relational patterns.
And The Reclaim Me Project is a trauma-informed initiative supporting women who have experienced violence and deep relational harm. Grounded in somatic therapy and nervous system healing, it offers pathways for long-term recovery, reconnection to the body, and the reclamation of safety, power, and self.

Her work integrates:
• somatic therapy (nervous system healing)
• matrilineal repair
• attachment work
• parts work
• rage work

She works with individuals who feel overwhelmed, disconnected, or stuck despite previous therapy or personal development - offering a body-based approach that supports real, lasting change.

Briony’s approach is grounded, relational, and deeply attuned, centring the body’s innate capacity to heal when given the right conditions.

Signature perspective

Briony’s work challenges the idea that healing happens through insight alone.

She speaks to the reality that many people understand their patterns, yet still feel overwhelmed, disconnected, or stuck - because their nervous system has not yet had the opportunity to process what is held in the body.

Her work brings attention back to the body as the primary site of healing, supporting individuals to move out of survival and into a state of flow, connection, and capacity. She speaks from a matriarchal point that focuses on humanity, service, activism and decolonisation.
