Somatic therapy works by utilising the body as a primary tool for healing, insight, & transformation in therapy.

The SomaTherapy Collective began as a women’s body centred approach to living and thriving. From a belief that the mother is the centre of family, community & life.

Somatic therapy can be a powerful tool for women seeking to decolonise and heal from the mother wound, which refers to the emotional pain and trauma stemming from the mother-daughter relationship within the context of societal and historical oppression and violence.

We approach this work from a body-centred focus through the use of somatic techniques and approaches for body-mind connection. Trauma-informed nervous system regulation and integration through a wholistic approach leading to greater overall wellness.

This is a client centred focus on reconnecting with your body for a body-centred healing approach that can release stored trauma. Reparenting your inner child and working on your empowerment through boundary setting, cultural reclamation and intersectional healing

Overall, we offer a holistic and embodied approach to healing the mother wound and decolonising women's bodies, minds, and spirits. By integrating somatic practices with anti-oppression frameworks, you can reclaim your autonomy, resilience, and ancestral wisdom, paving the way for transformative healing and empowerment.

A no BS powerhouse of what it is to thrive through adversity. An advocate for women & their rights who can rock and shock, challenge dogmas and enjoys shattering  glass ceilings and dismantling white colonialist systems of oppression and violence that promote capitalism and materialism over life, community and agency.

Mastering how to rebuild a thriving life from death, loss, disease and devastation. Briony believes that change begins within the body and nervous system. That when we feel safe and supported in our body, then healing takes place and then we are LIBERATED.

Briony lives and teaches under the philosophy that the mother is the centre of life & living well: that in order to thrive you must first master how to prioritise healing & connection , deepen your capacity to face life as it is, commit to decolonize within and around you and offer all you do in service to humanity & liberation of ALL.
